Game Ideas

The following are some unique game ideas I've been considering while working on this unit.

The first is a horror, to frighten the senses, and instil within you a fear of the unknown and what you cannot see. a person, their eyes surgically removed and placed within a drone with a undiscernible link to their mind, broadcasting a vision of the world in high-contrast monochrome, must fight their way out of an otherworldly place. The player must at once control their own body with the keyboard, and the drone's with the mouse, to navigate using their disconnected senses as they are stalked by entities from beyond this realm. Featuring spacial audio centred on the player, and a tank like control scheme, as seen in games like Silent Hill 2, this game will appeal to fans of the Survival and Psychological horror genres, featuring such magnificent games as the aforementioned Silent Hill 2, Anatomy, Signalis, the Pathologic series, and Who's Lila, all games beloved for their distorting of the player's ability to control them.

The Souls series has been plagued from its very inception with an obsession with levelling systems. After every boss the misbegotten tarnished teleports themselves back to the bonfire to spend the fruits of their endeavour, from then on permanently changing the power of their character, throwing off the dynamic that makes the Souls games so compelling, the ability to try again and again. A series of encounters, structured as a form of boss rush with Souls-like mechanics could provide a purely skilful experience such as that found within the game Furi, or From Software's own Sekiro: Shadow's Die Twice (once a player has unlocked all of the upgrades). This, in addition with a plunderphonic attitude toward art style, borrowing textures and models from the world at large could evoke a fun, engaging game with an eclectic ramshackle style made to charm its audience with a light-hearted aesthetic to contrast it's difficult gameplay, courtesy of the genre.
